Library Borrowings
The library is open to all interested readers, researchers and students. People who are not members of the RSL must sign in as a visitor and abide by the liquor licensing provisions. Patrons are able to borrow items for upwards of three weeks, with extensions allowed. A small number of items are only available for perusal within the library and are not for loan.

Donations
The library welcomes donations of resources so long as they fit in with the collection development policy. If you are keen to make a donation, come and discuss it with our librarian. All donors must agree that any donated items become the property of the Townsville RSL and can be used or discarded as the library sees fit.

Collection Development
Final approval and responsibility for selecting and acquiring resources will be with the librarian. All acquisitions, both purchased and donated, must meet the stated goals of the library. The library aims to collect resources across a variety of formats such as books, magazines and DVD’s.

The order of priority for selection of resources is as follows:

  • Townsville and North Queensland military activities
  • Australian military activities
  • British, American and other allied military activities
  • Enemy military activities
